Building your own house
Thank you for visiting our site. Our aim is to provide you with being a practical home contractor of your own home while avoiding the common mistakes and pitfalls that can ruin your dream for years to come!
House Design and building your own house is well within the capabilities of most people, but it does take considerable research, plans and concentration. We are here to help with that aspect, including preparation of Design and Architectural Plans from the very start.
Project Manager
Keep in mind that Home Design, plans and homebuilding can be quite time consuming, and may be quite a strain on you and your family if you try to do too much yourself. JA Projects oversee's the construction and dealing with the numerous, sometimes complex, situations involved in home designs and building we act as your Project Manager to make sure all aspect of the work is carried out.

Good Plans
Plans for every aspect of building your home is the key to a successful project! By careful planning you can avoid the surprises that so often lay waste to dreams. Every hour spent on blue prints is a good investment. With good blue prints, by the time construction begins, you should be able to supervise the project from in front of your Computer!
How Much House Can I Get For My Money?
We work closely with you to Design your home, not as Architectural Plans and Elevations but as a 3D perspective sketch drawn to scale, long before it reaches the Architect.
At this stage you can add all the features you would love in your home, both inside and outside. You could even have your Kitchen Designed at this stage! A rough plan is then made at this stage.
We then carry out a costing for you, everything from foundation to roof, the entire interior finish including Kitchen and Bathroom. Now you can add your Swimming Pool if you can afford to or downgrade some of the property to fix your house price.
Unique or contemporary
The home design estimate assumes you will have a General Contractor supplied by JA Projects to build your home for you.
You can combine features for something more unique or contemporary in your house designs. You should take into account the neighbourhood you are building in, and the styles already prevalent in the area.

Be economical with your space
The size house you need and the size LOT that you have must be considered here. It is more economical to build up (2-story), than to build utilizing more real estate. If your LOT will not accommodate the space you need in one story, you may not have any choice but to build a 2-story home.
You will also have to take into account the view, the proximity of your neighbours home and any other issues that are unique to the building site, such as the elevation of the foundation in relation to the elevation of the street.
